Music
Theatre Warwick is a society dedicated to performing musicals
and concerts throughout the year. We provide endless opportunities
for members to get involved, whether it’s through performing on
stage, making props and costumes, playing in the band or even
directing and producing – there’s something for everyone!
Over the
past twenty years, the society has continued to develop, each year
bringing new ideas for growth. With regular slots in Warwick Arts
Centre’s main theatre and studio, and the Students’ Union’s Cooler
venue, the society is able to produce exciting, professional shows,
which in the past, have included popular West End hits such as
“Fame” and “We Will Rock You”, quirky, off-Broadway comedies such as
“I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” and classic favourites like
“Chicago” and “Sweeney Todd – The Demon Barber of Fleet Street”.
As well as
performing countless shows every year, we have A LOT of socials,
including theatre trips, nights out on the razz and, as of last
year, an annual tour, giving members the opportunity to take a show
on tour to another city or even another country!
Above all
else, MTW is a society for people who love musicals. It gives people
the chance to get involved with shows and have fun trying out
different skills and roles. It is a great environment to meet new
people with a common interest and passion for musical theatre.
